Dose schedule
Dose changes depend on the exact medicine, formulation and reason for treatment. This Miami guide explains the questions to clarify with your prescriber or pharmacist. Miami Weight Loss provides information, not a personal dosing schedule.
Why low first
Titration means changing a dose in planned steps. For several GLP-1 medicines, gradual increases help reduce digestive adverse effects, but the details belong to the particular prescription. The overview of weight loss medications distinguishes ingredients, brands and formulations. A chart labeled only with an ingredient name may leave out information needed to use the actual product correctly.
For example, Wegovy dosing information covers both weekly injections and daily tablets, which have different instructions. Among oral GLP-1 medicines, Foundayo uses escalation intervals of at least 30 days. A general statement that every medicine increases every four weeks would therefore be misleading. Neither format should be adjusted using a schedule borrowed from another product.
The reason for treatment also matters. Zepbound treatment has specified maintenance doses that differ between weight management and sleep apnea. A starting dose or an intermediate step is not automatically an approved maintenance dose. The prescriber considers the product's labeling, treatment response and tolerability together. Ask which step you are taking now, what the intended next step is and what needs to happen before that decision is made.
How it runs
Long enough for the body to adapt and for the effect at that dose to be judged fairly.
Side effects, weight trend and how you are eating. The increase is a decision, not an automatic event on a calendar.
Staying at a dose for six or eight weeks is common and is not a setback. Pushing a dose that has not settled reliably makes things worse.
If the weight is coming off steadily at a middle dose, there is no reason to keep climbing. The highest dose is not the goal.
Maintenance
A written plan should identify the product, amount, frequency and date of any prescribed change. In physician-supervised weight loss, clarify who authorizes adjustments and how to contact that person. Report common GLP-1 side effects that persist or interfere with eating, drinking or daily activities. The response might involve further assessment or a different treatment decision; holding a dose is not a universal solution. Severe symptoms need prompt medical attention rather than waiting for the next routine review.
Keep the plan current when another prescription is added, treatment is interrupted or the supplied product changes. Possible GLP-1 medication interactions can affect what the prescriber recommends. A personalized weight loss plan should record the agreed instructions and follow-up, rather than leaving you to reconstruct them from an old message. Missed-dose and restart directions vary by product and length of interruption. Ask the pharmacist or prescriber to resolve uncertainty before the next dose, and do not add an extra dose to compensate on your own.

Common questions
Different schedules, measurement terms and keeping pharmacy instructions aligned with the prescribed plan.
Held at the same dose for eight weeks because it was working. No pressure to climb for the sake of it.
One increase was too much and they dropped me straight back. Two days later I was fine.
Settled well below the maximum and still losing steadily. Nobody tried to push me higher.
Every increase was a conversation rather than something that just happened on schedule.

Next step
The standard schedule is a starting point. How fast you move through it should depend on how you are actually doing.
